Most simply put, a WebQuest is a specially designed investigative
project that guides students (often in groups) through a defined
set of steps that leads them to a specified goal. The
Internet is usually the tool used for this research.
Here are the steps of a
WebQuest:

INTRODUCTION: This step provides background information, sets the stage
and sometimes even defines a cast of characters. |

TASK: This step defines the goal that needs to be reached. |
3) |
RESOURCES: This step provides the students with a list of resources
(usually on the Web) that will help them find necessary
information. |
4) |
PROCESS: This is a very clear set of steps the students need to do
to reach their end goal. |
5) |
GUIDANCE: This step gives students help with gathering and organizing their
data. It may have
information on creating charts, graphs or timelines using a
program like Excel. |
6) |
CONCLUSION: This step is the “wrap up” of what the student has
accomplished and learned during the quest. |
